One of the time honored traditions at wedding showers is for guests to write their wedding or marriage advice into a guest journal. This is then, usually, supposed to be kept by the couple and read over to do with as they wish.

While many people will tell you to not listen to the advice of other people regarding marriage because every person and every relationship are completely individual, the wedding advice journal gives and interesting slice of life that can, if nothing else, be used as a way to see into the lives and marriages of others and avoid some potential pitfalls.

Instead of a single piece of advice given randomly, the wedding advice journal will include many pieces of advice and stories from many different individuals, from all circumstances and in varied stages of relationships. For this reason alone, the journal is worth the price of admission, so to speak.

You will most likely have advice:

• On the perfect honeymoon and love, from those who have never been on a honeymoon or held a relationship for more than a few months.
• About keeping the spark alive before children happen, from those who are in the difficult stage of marriage and infants
• On the importance of a back up plan, from those who had to create one after a failed marriage

You don’t have to listen to the advice given in a wedding advice journal, but it can serve as a slice of relationships and advice from walks of life you may never see again.
